About the Festival

For the past few years, we have been honored to present an incredible array of short films from across the globe to excited Silicon Valley audiences as part of the San Jose International Short Film Festival and we are proud to continue this year with our 5th Annual Festival coming Oct 17th – 20th, 2013.

This year will be our biggest yet with over 100 World Class short films, web series, tv pilots, micro shorts (under 3 mins) plus narrative music videos on multiple screens at the amazing Santana Row Complex at the Cine’Arts Theatre located in the heart of San Jose.

New this year we are launching an online film competition with content created exclusively on mobile devices, plus a special screenplay competition under 10 pages, where the winning entry will be produced and screened on at the festival with the screenwriter in attendance to witness the finished short.

Bringing together filmmakers, industry executives, Silicon Valley notables and celebrities, to mix and mingle with visitors and patrons seeking to discover new talent, experiences and witness the best in World Class entertainment.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to present quality films from around the world to excited audiences within Silicon Valley, taking special note of the filmmakers & craftsmen that deliver visionary excellence and passionate storytelling with films under 25 minutes in length.

As San Jose’s only film festival dedicated to short films, SJSFF was founded to showcase Silicon Valley’s leadership role in contemporary filmmaking, searching the globe for intriguing, thought-provoking and innovative short films that will resonate with our festival patrons.

Over the course of our four day festival each October, audiences will be treated to multiple themed screenings, organized to deliver the most impact for the individual viewer, giving the attending filmmakers an opportunity to interact, gain feedback and most importantly, to receive the platform they so richly deserve for their art.
